“Being part of an art group is proving to be a valuable tool for recovery for survivors of traumatic brain injury. Worries and problems appear to fade away and are released as individuals engage in the creative process. A sense of joy takes over, as people get ‘lost’ in their artwork.

I've been witness to a profound sense of connection among participants.

Feeling connected is extremely valuable to ABI survivors who have lost so much and often feel cut off and isolated from the population at large. The act of creating seems to bring with it a sense of calm and focus to the mind, body and spirit. I believe this is an ideal condition for healing and have observed Bonnie Chapman’s Creativity for Health Program serving to help survivors improve their state of wellbeing and move forward toward meaningful life goals.”
