“Living with cancer for sixteen years . . . engrossed in my artwork, the physical pain is blocked out. With a crippled right arm, Bonnie showed me creativity was possible with only my left hand. This program lessened the depression my losses in life (cancer, divorce, family home, and independence) have generated. With Bonnie as my inspiring and kind guide and the studio art community whose courage spurs me on, I look forward to Thursday mornings with an enthusiasm I have for few other things in my life. Bonnie cast my torso to honor my inner, healthy, spiritual self that is free from trauma and disease. I call it Forgiveness. Each time I leave the art studio I caress the landscape of my body that now seems so beautiful. I hope it will inspire, empower, and transform other cancer patients’ views of their own bodies on the journey to recovery. Linda Hebert
