Pictures of people and the Living with Uncertainty artwork

“We invite you to share this work of art with us created by the Cardio Sciences nurses and patients, guided by artist Bonnie Chapman, and displayed on Unit 3F at the Regina General Hospital. We have called this four-by-eight foot work ‘Living With Uncertainty’ as this experience has great meaning when patients explore what life is like for them. It symbolizes patient-centered care and the Human Becoming theory. This collaborative community heart mosaic speaks of love as a universal connection. The hands of the patients and nurses flow through the ‘open heart of healing’ celebrating the nurse-person relationship. As nurses, we believe we are most helpful when we can be truly present with our patients as they live with uncertainty. Being still, being quiet, listening and exploring what life is like for a person as a patient is the essence of nursing. The journey of this artwork was empowering, transformative, and healing for the caregivers and patients. Many who view ‘Living With Uncertainty’ on the unit live with uncertainty everyday and move beyond with the possibilities . . .”
