Pictures of people with the Garden Folk artwork at the Dunlop Gallery

“‘Prairie Breeze In The Garden’ was the heart of the uplifting Garden Folk exhibit. This was the first time the Dunlop Gallery partnered with a hospital-based artist in order to support a transformative community health project designed to promote awareness of how gardening and the visual arts can empower healing and social change, and these in turn contribute to the psychological and spiritual well being of community. Conceived and curated by Bonnie Chapman, 45 patients brought their personal experiences with life and the garden to glazed ceramic tiles suspended in front of her 21-foot prairie topography triptych to create this powerful community garden that transcends and provides hope, and that draws sustenance from their very proud sense of place. Thank you to Bonnie Chapman for her extraordinary vision.”
